Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery
Ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeons are
trained in the surgical and medical treatment of conditions of the
ears, nose, throat, head and neck, including facial plastics and
some cosmetic
surgery including ear reshaping.
Some of the conditions managed within this
speciality include common illnesses such as recurrent tonsillitis
and recurrent ear infections such as otitis media, which are common
in children (link to
Paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat).
Other conditions include obstructive sleep apnoea (link to sleep
clinic), and nasal blockage which can result from sinusitis, as
well as unique and special problems only seen within this patient
group.
Bupa Cromwell Hospital has a committed team of
Consultant Audiologists and scientists dedicated to providing a
complete audiological
service (link to Audiology) for adults and children. The
Department is based in a custom built sound proofed suite of rooms,
ensuring that all external noises are screened out. The
multi-specialist team provides assessment and treatment of
audiological
disorders (link to Audiological Medicine) and works closely
with the ENT Surgeons based in the Hospital. Our Speech and
Language Therapist (link) is available for the diagnosis and
treatment for problems of communication (including voice), and
swallowing disorders.
