Paediatric General Medicine
Paediatric General Medicine is the speciality name of a
Paediatrician and is the initial point of contact for child care
after consultation with a GP or Community Paediatrician.
Paediatricians are trained to be able to deal effectively
and with sensitivity most problems that your child may present
with. The following conditions are just some examples of
conditions commonly dealt with:
- Acute Infections such as pneumonia, urinary tract infection
meningitis etc
- Allergic rhinitis / hay fever
- Asthma
- Bedwetting
- Behavioural problems

In some cases, after an initial consultation
the Paediatrician may well want to refer your child on for
further tests such as CT or MRI scans, alternatively they may well
want to refer your child to another Paediatric
Consultant/Specialist for a further opinion, and we have a
