Plastic Surgery
Plastic surgery is a broad field that treats a wide variety of
disorders across the entire age spectrum. Plastic surgeons are
often called upon to care for complicated wounds, repair traumatic
deformities, remove skin cancers, correct congenital deformities,
partake in surgery of the hand (such as cubital tunnel
surgery to relieve nerve compression), reconstruct
defects from cancer surgery or accidents and perform cosmetic
surgery.
The entire range of plastic surgical services are provided at
Bupa Cromwell Hospital. Our plastic surgeons are highly skilled in
the areas of the treatment of skin cancers, breast reconstruction
after mastectomy and all aspects of cosmetic plastic surgery.
Patients can see specialists in consultation at the Bupa
Cromwell Outpatients Clinic or at the consultant's private office.
Many procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis in the Bupa
Cromwell Hospital theatres with aftercare provided by the surgeon
and his staff in the outpatient clinic or in the surgeon's
office.
The Bupa Cromwell Hospital Plastic Surgery Unit has particular
expertise in cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and body. In
fact, some of our surgeons have undertaken further, specialised
training in aesthetic surgery. The range of these procedures
include:
- Chemical peels
- Eyelid surgery
- Cosmetic facial surgery
- Nose re-shaping
- Cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery
- Liposuction
- Endoscopic surgery
An oculoplastics service run by
Mr Naresh Joshi, exists in conjunction with the plastics team.
The service provides reconstructive work for lid malpositions,
ptosis, entropion/ectropian, and cosmetic eyelid surgery
(blepharoplasty/brow surgery).
