New Chief Executive at Cromwell
The Cromwell’s new
Chief Executive brings a wealth of experience in running medical
facilities and has already made his mark by securing an investment
to purchase digital mammography, fluoroscopy and a major upgrade of
the Endoscopy Unit. This is on top of the £4.9m recently approved
for the improvement of infrastructure such as elevators, the fire
alarm system and replacing the chillers.
Immediately prior to his appointment at the Cromwell, Mr Martin who
has worked in healthcare for over 25 years, was President and CEO
of the Rouge Valley Health System in Toronto, Canada.
From 1997 to 2002 he served as a Chief Regional Officer with the
Calgary Health Region and as Executive Director of the Alberta
Children’s Hospital where he had responsibility for Women’s and
Child Health services throughout the Region.
Mr Martin has also served as CEO of the Essex County District
Health Council in Windsor Ontario, Executive Director of the
Bermuda Hospitals Board and President of the North York General
Hospital in Toronto. He graduated from the University of Toronto
Health Administration Program in 1981.
Prior to his work in the health field, Mr Martin was involved in
community development work in West Africa and Northern Canada. He
was elected to the Ontario Hospital Association Board of Directors
in 2003.
