Dr Consultation

How you can be referred

Typically you will need to be referred by a General Practitioner (GP) to a Consultant at Bupa Cromwell Hospital who will then be responsible for your treatment.

I live in the UK and have a GP

Your GP will normally write a referral letter or you can self-refer to one of our consultants.

I live in the UK and do not have a GP

You can be referred by one of our Private “in-house” GPs at the hospital, or you can self refer to one of our Consultants.  We offer a 'Walk-in' Private GP service which is available 9.00am to 6.00pm Monday - Friday and from 9.00am to 1.00pm on Saturdays.

I do not live in the UK

Can I be admitted in an emergency?

If you have an urgent health condition and would like to receive first class private treatment, your Doctor can now access Bupa Cromwell Hospital’s Consultants twenty four hours, seven days a week via our GP Fast Track service.

There are Consultants in most specialities who accept emergency admissions and patients can be admitted via one of our on-call consultants. To access the on-call service your referring Doctor will need to call the switchboard on +44 (0)20 7460 2000 and ask for the on-call consultant for the speciality you require.

Please note however, we cannot guarantee that a consultant will always be available for the speciality you require.
