The Clinical Directors of the Cromwell Cancer Centre is Dr Ron Beaney and Professor Bob Leonard.  Their team of Clinical Oncologists from the major London teaching hospitals are experts in treating a wide range of cancers. Supporting the Clinical Directors is Angela Gurd, General Manager for Oncology Services.

 

Clinical and nursing staff

The clinical and nursing staff in the Bupa Cromwell Cancer Centre work as part of a multi-disciplinary team ensuring that each patient receives the finest care and a comprehensive and personal treatment plan. Our medical team is, of course, also on hand to offer support and advice to patients throughout their treatment and follow-up. All clinical and nursing staff are fully trained in their area of expertise and are registered with their relevant professional bodies.

 

Radiotherapy staff

To coincide with installation of two new TomoTherapy machines, the Radiotherapy Department has undergone extensive refurbishment.

Lina Patel, our Radiotherapy Lead, heads a team of therapy radiographers, radiotherapy nurses, counselling and administrative support staff.

 

The Head of Radiotherapy Physics, Dr David Nicholas, leads an experienced team of physicists, engineering staff and planning radiographers who provide medical physics support.

 

The Department is committed to continual improvement and the provision of a first-class service. They have achieved BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accreditation and participate in regular audits.

 

Chemotherapy staff

The Department has a team of highly experienced Medical Oncologists.

 

Carole Patrick is the Oncology Nurse Manager on our dedicated Oncology wards. These comprise a 21 bedded inpatient area and a six bedded Chemo Day Unit staffed by highly skilled nurses trained in the specialist care and treatment of cancer patients.

 

A dedicated Chemotherapy Nurse Specialist supervises the administration of chemotherapy to ensure the delivery of best practice at all times. We also have a nurse led PICC service (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) which means catheters for the administration of Chemotherapy drugs can be safely inserted without the need for anaesthesia.

 

Palliative care staff

The Palliative Care team is led by Dr David Feuer a Palliative Consultant. A team of experienced oncology nurses skilled in pain control are headed by a Macmillan trained Palliative Care Nurse who offer the highest level of attention wherever you chose to stay.
