Nurses
Karen O'Donnell
Karen is our lead specialist nurse in the
weight management service. She is an expert in her field and
has more than 14 years experience in the field of
gastrointestinal surgery (bariatric, upper GI cancer, HPB and
colorectal surgery).
During this time Karen has
transferred from being a ward sister to a specialist clinical nurse
in bariatrics and weight-loss management.
She has visited and attended courses in five different
bariatric centres across Europe and the UK.
Karen performs gastric band adjustments and forms a key link with
patients to this service.
Karen can act as a patient advocate (offering
advice and support for patients, relatives and carers) With her
specialist knowledge she can also liaise with GPs and other health
professionals on your behalf.
She is responsible for the education and
training of hospital staff at the Bupa Weight Management
Centre.
