Welcome to the Cardiac Centre
The Hospital provides a wide range of services for the diagnosis
and treatment of heart conditions in both adults and children.
Our team of consultant cardiothoracic surgeons
are supported by specially trained cardiac nurses, perfusionists
and technicians.
The Cardiology Department provides a
comprehensive range of cardiac investigations as well as acute
monitoring for all cardiac catheter cases in the Angiography Suite.
The multidisciplinary catheter laboratory team
at the Hospital is skilled in all aspects of diagnostic
investigation which may lead to interventional or surgical
treatment. This includes Angiography, including Coronary Arteriography and
Interventional Cardiology.
A range of non-invasive diagnostic facilities
(link) is available, including electrocardiograms (ECG) and
echocardiography. An important additional tool for cardiac imaging
is the Gamma Camera
in the Department of Nuclear Medicine.
The Department works closely with consultants
in Nutrition
and Dietetics, Thoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery.
