Referrals and appointments
How you can be referred
Typically you will need to be referred by a
General Practitioner (GP) to a Consultant at Bupa Cromwell Hospital
who will then be responsible for your treatment.
If you live in the UK, your GP will normally
write a referral letter to one of our consultants.
If you do not have a GP or are an international patient you could be referred by
one of the Private “in-house” GPs at the Hospital. For
information on our GP or Consultants, please go to Find A Doctor.

Can I be admitted in an emergency?
Bupa Cromwell Hospital does not have an Accident &
Emergency Department, but does accept emergency admissions provided
that the patient is being referred by a Doctor.
There are Consultants in most specialities who accept emergency
admissions and patients can be admitted via one of our on-call
consultants. To access the on-call service your Doctor will need to
call the switchboard on +44 (0)20 7460 2000 and ask for the on-call
consultant for the speciality you require. Please note however, we
cannot guarantee that a consultant will always be available for the
speciality you require.
