About Dr Rakesh Sharma
Dr Rakesh Sharma is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Brompton Hospital whose clinical expertise includes the management of patients with heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias, chest pain, cardiac sarcoidosis, myocarditis and long covid. He qualified from Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital in 1995 with triple honours, being Proxime Accessit to the University of London Gold Medal. He underwent postgraduate training in tertiary centres in London. He won a British Heart Foundation fellowship to study for his PhD in Cardiology at the National Heart and Lung Institute, for which he was awarded the Young Investigator Prize at the American Heart Association.
