About Professor Michael Heneghan
Dr Michael Heneghan trained in Gastroenterology at University College Hospital Galway, Ireland, and Hepatology at King's College Hospital London and at Duke University in the United States. He previously held the position of Medical Director of liver transplantation at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina. He is currently a Medical Adviser to the Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC) Foundation. His research interests relate to liver autoimmunity and novel therapies in end-stage liver disease.
