New Cath Lab at Cromwell Hospital

Cromwell Hospital is proud to announce the opening of its brand-new Cath Lab, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to delivering world-class cardiovascular care and radiology procedures.

A Cath Lab is a specialised medical facility where consultants perform diagnostic procedures to treat cardiovascular conditions and perform interventional radiology procedures. These include coronary angiograms, angioplasty, stent insertions, and EP and ablation studies. Using advanced imaging equipment, clinicians can guide catheters through blood vessels to the heart, allowing for precise treatment without the need for open surgery.

The new facilities are equipped with the latest imaging and diagnostic technology, designed to support a wide range of minimally invasive cardiac procedures. The expanded space offers a more comfortable and efficient environment for both patients and clinical teams.

It is the first of two new cath labs that are being opened at Cromwell Hospital this year.

“This investment reflects Bupa’s ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care,” said Sarah Melia, General Manager, Health Services. “I am delighted that we will be able to support more patients with the latest technology in a space that’s been purpose-built for comfort, efficiency, and clinical excellence.”

“We’re proud to be opening our new facilities, which represent a major step forward in our Cardiology services,” said Philip Luce, CEO, Diagnostic and Secondary Care London. “The new Cath Lab brings together advanced technology and a modern, patient-focused design that supports high-quality care and enhances the experience for both patients and staff.”

Suné du Toit, Cardiology Manager added: ”Our team and consultants are thrilled to work in a space that truly supports clinical excellence. The upgraded facilities allow us to perform complex procedures with greater precision and comfort.”
