Biography
Mr James Calder's practice entirely consists of adult foot and ankle surgery. Many of the operations are now performed using minimal invasive techniques (arthroscopy) as this can often enhance the speed of recovery following surgery.
Recent advances in techniques now also enable total ankle replacement rather than fusion of the ankle in selected patients.
He has developed a special interest in the treatment of elite athletes.
Mr Calder continues to conduct research at Imperial College, London investigating injuries to the Achilles tendon, ligament injuries and ankle arthritis.
