Biography
Rachel Lyons is Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician at Ealing General Hospital. She is a graduate of Guy's Hospital Medical School, London, and gained her clinical training in a wide range of London district general and teaching hospitals, most recently The Royal Free and St. Mary's Hospitals. She has a patient-centered approach to practice, and all patients have direct access to Miss Lyons.
She has gained a wide experience in general gynaecology, including the management of menstrual problems, fibroids, problems of the menopause and vaginal prolapse.
Miss Lyons has special expertise in minimal access surgery, including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for heavy periods, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and fertility investigations. She maintains her skills with regular operating sessions at Ealing General Hospital, where she runs a specific advanced laparoscopic theatre list for more complex cases. She is a keen advocate of keyhole surgery wherever possible.
Her special interests are infertility and gynaecological ultrasound, having worked as a Clinical Research Fellow in a busy IVF unit for 2 years, and performing research into endometriosis and tubal infertility. She runs both the infertility and early pregnancy units at Ealing and holds the Diploma of Obstetric Ultrasound.
