New MRI scanners transform patient experience
At the heart of the upgrade are two new MRI scanners, including a state-of-the-art Philips 3T MRI system and an Esaote extremity MRI.
The Philips 3T MRI enables faster image acquisition, significantly reducing scan times while delivering exceptional diagnostic precision. Meanwhile, the Esaote extremity MRI provides a more open scanning experience, particularly beneficial for paediatric patients and those who may feel anxious or claustrophobic.
Both MRI environments have been designed with patient comfort in mind, featuring:

- Sensory enhancements including aromatherapy
- Spacious, dedicated patient waiting areas

New CT and Nuclear Medicine services now live
Alongside MRI, Cromwell Hospital has expanded its diagnostic capabilities with the introduction of a new CT service and a Siemens SPECT-CT scanner, now fully operational.
The advanced SPECT-CT system combines functional and anatomical imaging, significantly enhancing diagnostic accuracy and supporting the continued growth of theranostics – an innovative approach to targeted cancer diagnosis and treatment.
