Cromwell Hospital, a world-leading private hospital in London, is working with Datar Cancer Genetics as a trusted second opinion partner.

Cromwell Hospital has an award-winning centre of excellence in oncology, with the full range of diagnostic services and leading cancer treatments, including minimally invasive and robotic surgery, advanced radiotherapy, and the latest cancer drugs.

Cromwell Hospital hosts monthly and fortnightly MDT meetings chaired by our expert consultants, who work together to plan the best and most appropriate treatment for the patient. The team is often made up of consultant physicians, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and other applied health professionals, including clinical nurse specialists, radiographers, physiotherapists, and dietitians.

At Cromwell Hospital, we have 16 MDTs and four tumour boards. Leading UK consultants such as Dr Nick Plowman, Consultant Clinical Oncologist, and Professor Andrew Wardley, Consultant Clinical Oncologist, lead our tumour boards.

“Cromwell Hospital’s tumour boards bring together experts across the hospital to provide our patients with multidisciplinary care. Tumour boards ensure that patients are given tailored treatment plans and provided with the best possible care,” said Dr Andrew Gaya, Consultant Clinical Oncologist and Lead of the GI Tumour Board at Cromwell Hospital.

Datar Cancer Genetics is a leader in developing blood-based diagnostics that can detect cancer early, offer non-invasive investigations for better treatment options, and track the progression of the disease or its recurrence.

Cromwell Hospital has created a bespoke virtual care pathway for Datar Cancer Genetics patients offering an initial discussion or virtual consultation within five days of referral.

Patients will be reviewed by our leading clinicians through our MDTs and Tumour Boards, and patients provided with a virtual follow up consultation and full written report.

“Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be a distressing time and knowing you can speak directly to an expert within five days and be seen by a multidisciplinary team for a second opinion is reassuring. Offering Datar Cancer Genetics patients with an efficient and robust second opinion is an important service that supports patient care,” said Dr Jason Chow, Consultant Medical Oncologist and MDT member at Cromwell Hospital.

“The collaboration with Cromwell Hospital will offer pathways of clinical excellence for patients utilising our innovative, personalised cancer solutions,” said Dr Vineet Datta, Director, Datar Cancer Genetics. “This service will provide advanced guidance to the patient community, and we intend to work closely with the oncology team to support better informed clinical decision making.”
