About Mr Wayel Jassem

Mr Wayel Jassem is a consultant general surgeon with a specialist interest in liver surgery, including living donor liver transplantation and complex hepatic resections.

Mr Jassem trained in general surgery at the University of Ancona, Italy; in kidney transplantation at the Nuffield Department of Surgery, Oxford University; and in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery at King's College Hospital.

Currently, he is a consultant transplant surgeon at King's College Hospital. His research interests include ischemic preconditioning and protection of the liver during resection.
