Cromwell Hospital are pleased to have been awarded the Leaders in Safeguarding Award.
Leaders in Safeguarding is an organisation that audits and assesses education, health, and social care companies against sixteen safeguarding standards. The Leaders in Safeguarding Award is a registered and widely recognised quality mark that celebrates and supports those companies that demonstrate highly effective and robust safeguarding arrangements.
Cromwell Hospital underwent the audit in September 2023, when a safeguarding specialist attended the hospital over several days to assess the effectiveness of our safeguarding arrangements. This included recruitment, training, policies and procedures, and observation of day-to-day practice.
Heather Lawrence, Safeguarding Lead and Oncology Modern Matron, said of the achievement: “We take safeguarding very seriously at Cromwell Hospital, so I am delighted that this has been recognised through the Leaders in Safeguarding Award. We pride ourselves on keeping our patients at the heart of everything we do – and this includes safeguarding where necessary.”
