Denia Balang receives BSGE AwardCromwell Hospital is proud to celebrate Denia Balang, Gynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist, who was recently honoured with the British Society for Gynaecology Endoscopy (BSGE) Endometriosis Nurse Innovation Award during the BSGE Endometriosis CNS Study Day held in Slough on 7–8 October 2025.

This national recognition highlights Denia’s outstanding contribution to advancing care for patients with endometriosis. Her innovative approach to clinical practice and patient support has made a significant impact on the lives of those navigating this complex condition.

“I am delighted to have won this award. The last few years we have developed the International Centre for Endometriosis to become the busiest centre in the UK for complex surgery,” said Denia.

The BSGE exists to improve standards, promote training and encourage the exchange of information in minimal access surgery techniques for women with gynaecological problems. They regularly run educational events, such as the Endometriosis CNS Study Day held earlier this month.

Patients benefit from personalised care plans led by specialists in gynaecology, pain management, and fertility.

Earlier this year, the hospital became the first hospital in the UK to offer patients operations on the da Vinci Single Port robotic-assisted surgical system, which enhances precision and recovery outcomes for complex gynaecological procedures, including endometriosis excision. This leading technology allows for single-port access, reducing scarring and improving recovery times.
