About Mr Zahid Mukhtar
Mr Mukhtar qualified from St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College in 1995. He trained as a paediatric surgeon at hospitals throughout the City of London and Greater London, including Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Mr Mukhtar specialises in minimally invasive paediatric surgery and is one of only a few paediatric surgeons routinely performing laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery on newborns in the UK.
In 2007 he was appointed a consultant at St George's Hospital, at the same time taking the post of honorary senior lecturer in the department of trauma, conflict and catastrophe at St George's, University of London.
