Upper Gastrointestinal surgery, or Upper GI surgery, is a type of surgery which treats conditions affecting the upper half of the digestive system.
This includes the stomach, the small bowel and the oesophagus.
You may need Upper GI surgery if you have gallstones, pancreatitis, acid or gastro-oesophageal reflux, or stomach ulcers.
