Haematology

Our team of globally renowned hematologists specialises in managing the full spectrum of blood, lymphatic, and bone marrow disorders, including benign and malignant pathologies.

What is haematology?

Haematology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases affecting the blood, bone marrow, lymphatic system, and immune system.

If you have a problem with your blood cells (red cells, white cells, and platelets), bone marrow, lymph nodes, spleen, or iron metabolism, or if you are experiencing bleeding- or clot-related problems, you will be referred to a hematologist. Our consultant hematologists are experts in diagnosing and treating conditions of your blood and the organs that make and regulate your blood.

Cromwell Hospital has extensive diagnostic and treatment facilities for the management of these conditions, including a dedicated haemato-oncology ward and a thriving hematology day unit that offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including transfusions, antibody infusions, immunotherapy, and chemotherapy.
