The Liver and Renal Centre at Cromwell Hospital offers a comprehensive range of treatment for kidney disease, including advanced procedures like kidney transplantation.
We are also home to one of the largest private dialysis centres in the UK, staffed by a team of specially trained dialysis nurses. Every year we welcome many patients – both local residents and overseas visitors alike.
Dietary changes
Individuals with CKD may benefit from following a kidney-friendly eating plan – a diet low in potassium and phosphate.
Haemodialysis
Haemodialysis is used in patients with end-stage renal disease. It involves filtering and cleaning the blood through a machine.

Kidney transplantation is an option for those with end-stage kidney disease, where the diseased kidney is replaced by a healthy donor kidney.
