Multidisciplinary care
Our diverse network of specialists allows us to deliver the most informed treatment plans for our patients.
Liver treatments
We offer some of the latest, cutting-edge treatments for liver conditions, including the MR Linac – a powerful MRI scanner and linear accelerator that locates and destroys difficult-to-treat tumours. At present, we are one of the only hospitals in London to provide this treatment.
We also offer selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT), an innovative type of internal radiotherapy used to treat tumours that cannot be treated through other means.
Selective internal radiation therapy
Selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) is an internal radiotherapy used to treat tumours within the liver.
Stereotactic body radiotherapy
Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) is performed using MR Linac technology to locate and destroy difficult-to-treat tumours.
Irreversible electroporation (NanoKnife®)
Irreversible electroporation, also known as NanoKnife®, uses electrical currents to destroy cancer cells in the pancreas.
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) uses endoscopy and X-rays to treat bile and pancreatic duct problems.
Hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery
Hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery (HPB) is a sub-specialty of surgery that treats liver, pancreas and biliary tree conditions.
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a minimally invasive, keyhole surgery used to access and remove the gallbladder.
Liver transplant
A liver transplant is usually recommended in the case of patients with end-stage liver disease.
Microwave ablation
Microwave ablation (MWA) uses high-frequency energy to heat and destroy cancerous cells within the liver.
Pancreaticoduodenectomy
Also known as a Whipple procedure, this surgery is used to remove malignant tumours from the head of the pancreas.
Robotic surgery
Using our state-of-the-art da Vinci Xi robot, patients can benefit from faster recovery times and reduced scarring.
Transcatheter arterial chemoembolisation (TACE)
TACE is a liver cancer treatment that reduces blood supply to a tumour by artificially blocking it with small particles.
