When your child leaves hospital

Leaving hospital

If your child is booked as a day case, they will probably be able to go home three to four hours after their procedure.

Your child's consultant and nurse will review their progress and let you know.

The team will also talk to you about ongoing care and any necessary follow-up appointments, and the pharmacy will prepare any medicine your child needs.

You can speak to the admissions office before you leave if you have any questions. A member of our billing team will contact you at home with any outstanding charges.

If you have any concerns about your child’s health once back home, please contact the ward or your consultant. If the situation is urgent you should go to your nearest Accident and Emergency department.
