Your child as a day patient

We will have sent you a letter, telling you when your child's appointment is.

When you arrive, please report to the main reception. You’ll be directed to our child-friendly outpatients department, which has six consultation rooms, a treatment room, and a separate play area.

During the appointment

Your paediatric consultant will discuss your child's symptoms with you. They will let you know whether your child needs further tests, and will take you through various treatment options.

If necessary, your child may be admitted to our Skyline ward on the same day as their consultation.

They will be looked after by a specialist nursing team. Our inpatient service is complemented by a consultant paediatric intensivist, for added peace of mind.

Going home

If your child has come in for a daycase procedure, they will be carefully monitored by their consultant and nursing team. They will decide when your child is well enough to go home.

You are welcome to stay with your child throughout their procedure, and to visit our on-site café in the main hospital.
