Patients and visitors / Staying with us

When you arrive

Please go to the main hospital reception, where one of our team will welcome you.

We'll go through any necessary paperwork with you. If you have completed a pre-registration form, please bring it with you, or arrive at least ten minutes early so we can help you complete this.

We ask all patients to provide a credit or debit card on arrival. This will only be used if you have any outstanding charges, or for extra items such as magazines, newspapers, telephone calls, or catering for relatives. You will also need to pay for any take-home medicines or supplies.

If you have any special requirements, please let us know.

Meeting your nursing team

You will then be shown to your room, where one of our nurses will admit you.

If you haven’t been to the pre-admission clinic, the nurse will carry out a full health assessment. This involves taking your medical history and doing routine measurements and blood tests.

Your nurse will give you an identification bracelet which needs to be worn on your wrist or ankle at all times.

For your safety, you should tell the nurse about any medicines or dietary supplements you may be taking. You will also be asked if you have any allergies.
